Tekashi 6ix9ine’s ex-girlfriend and baby mama has insisted the rapper hasn’t changed, after he was sentenced to 24 months in prison.
The Fefe rapper, real name Daniel Hernandez, had faced 47 years in prison for charges of racketeering, conspiracy, drug trafficking and firearms offences.
But on Wednesday, the 23-year-old was told he would spend another 11 months in prison after spending 13 months in custody already, while he was also sentenced to 300 hours community service, five years supervised release and a fine of $35,000 (£26,000).
And his ex Sara Molina – who shares four-year-old daughter Saraiyah with Tekashi – accused the star of using their child as a ‘prop’ to gain sympathy.
Speaking to TMZ, Sara said: My daughter has never been a priority to him whatsoever.
The judge said it himself, your daughter has nothing to do with the decisions you’ve made, you didn’t have to do it, you did everything you wanted to do because you wanted to do it. He uses my daughter as a prop to gain sympathy, like this is why he needs to be home.
‘At the end of day, he was fighting a lot of odds. People didn’t like him. But at the end of the day, my daughter gave people a glimpse of humility that he didn’t have.’
Sara added: ‘He’s not a changed person, I don’t think he is.’
Explaining she hadn’t spoken to Hernandez since last year, Sara said: ‘He has gone basically this whole year without reaching out, checking on my daughter. It’s fine, me and him don’t have to speak, especially with all the lies he’s telling about me. But it’s just the fact that you’re not concerned about what’s going on with your daughter for a whole year, that’s what makes me feel like he hasn’t changed.’
Ms Molina then claimed that on the eve of Tekashi’s sentencing, she was contacted by his brother, who asked to have Saraiyah for the night, so they could allegedly bring the child to court. She claimed that on the support letter, they ‘couldn’t even get my daughter’s age right’.
She added: ‘I’m receiving no financial support from him, nor do I want it, I just know what comes with it. You can’t put a price on mine and my daughter’s peace.’
Tekashi admitted to joining the Trey Bloods gang, which he contributed to financially, and pleaded guilty to nine federal counts.
However, he agreed to co-operate with authorities and ‘snitched’ on fellow gang members and alleged gang members in exchange for a lesser sentence.
Prosecutors had also submitted their own request for Tekashi to receive a lighter sentence in light of his cooperation.
When two gang members stood trial in September, Tekashi said that the video shoot for his hit song, Gummo, in August 2017 introduced him to Nine Trey Bloods members and he was shown stills from the clip and asked by prosecutors to identify those who appeared on camera.
At one point, Tekashi – also referred to as Tekashi69 – identified two men who were on trial – pointing at defendants Anthony ‘Harv’ Ellison and Aljermiah ‘Nuke’ Mack, saying they were Nine Trey Gang members.
Tekashi testified that his role in the gang, which he said he joined in November 2017, was simply to keep making hit music in order to bankroll its activities. He also testified that he participated in violent crimes such as assaults and shootings as well as drug trafficking.
